Civic Center MOVES

Free Fitness Mon, Tues, Wed & Thurs!

Civic Center MOVES is a free fitness series for all levels produced year-round by the nonprofit Civic Center Conservancy.  From late April through early October, the classes are outdoors in Civic Center Park; from mid-October through April, classes are indoors at the Civic Center McNichols Building.  For possible schedule/location adjustments, please follow Civic Center MOVES on Facebook.

All Civic Center MOVES particpants are required to sign a waiver the first time they attend a class.  Waivers will be available on-site, but you can also download one HERE.  And if walking is your fitness choice, click the "Take A Walk in the Park" PDF on the left side of the page!

Monday Evenings, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.:  Power Vinyasa Yoga with The River
Civic Center Park : McNichols Building | 10/8/18 - 4/15/19
An invigorating flow class of meditation in motion that will empower and transform you in body, mind and spirit. Learn to go with the flow, find your edge and practice at your own level.


Tuesday Lunchtimes, 12:15 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.:  Hustle + Flow with Jillian Keaveny
Civic Center Park: McNichols Building | 12/4/18 - 4/16/19
Incorporating both strength and cardio based movements, your entire body will be challenged in creative ways.  This is a body-weight, all-levels class and modifications are always offered.  Get ready for fun, rad beats and lots of sweat in this 45 minute workout!


Wednesday Mornings, 5:30 a.m. - 6:15 a.m. & 6:15 a.m. - 7:00 a.m.:

Fitness Tribe with the November Project
Civic Center Park: Alternates between the Greek Theater and the Capitol Steps | Year-Round
November Project is a free, grassroots, fitness tribe aimed at building community that relies on the accountability of our members to show up each morning regardless of the weather conditions or their busy schedules.  Our exercise routines are scalable in order to allow us to bring people of all shapes, sizes, and athletic abilities together in the same venue to run, climb, and burpee at their own pace.  In 45-minutes, we get in a tough workout, meet new friends and set a positive tone for the day ahead.


Thursday Lunchtimes, 12:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.:  Yoga Cross with The River & Fitness in the City
Civic Center Park: McNichols Building | 1/10/19 - 4/11/19
Yoga Cross is a dynamic combination of 30 minutes of functional fitness training followed by 30 minutes of power vinyasa yoga.  This unique workout will elevate your heart-rate, strengthen your body, and bring balance to mind and spirit.  All levels welcome.


Thursday Evenings, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.: Yoga for EveryBODY with Big Booty Yoga
Returns May 2019
An all-levels vinyasa yoga class where attendees will match breath with movement through strengthening postures. We will ease our way into class, gain momentum through flow and then steadily slow down.

The River Power Vinyasa Yoga
The River is a uniquely beautiful, locally-owned yoga studio in the heart of Denver.  Our mission is to provide exceptional yoga experiences, educational programs, intentional partnerships and a hOMe where community and individuals are encouraged to live into their fullest potential.  Classes at The River are a balance between physical challenge and mindfulness.  We strive to make yoga accessible to everyone in our community…young and old, experienced and novices.  Weekly classes formats include power vinyasa yoga (heated and not), gentle yoga, Yoga Cross (functional fitness and yoga), Align+ Burn (yoga with weights) and kid yoga.
 

Jillian Keaveny
Inspired by music, movement and connection, Jillian is a full time fitness and yoga instructor in Denver, CO.  Her teaching is driven by her passion to connect mind, body and heart.  Whether it is a high intensity, sweaty fitness class, or a slow intentional yoga flow, Jillian’s classes are always intentional, fun, and a conduit for internal awareness.

 

November Project – Denver
The November Project was started in Boston and has spread to 15 cities across North America.  It is a grassroots, free fitness movement with a focus on building community and friendships.  It relies on the accountability of our members to show up each morning regardless of the weather conditions or their busy schedules.  Our exercise routines are scalable in order to allow us to bring people of all shapes, sizes, and athletic abilities together in the same venue to run, climb, and burpee at their own pace.  In 45-minutes, we get in a tough workout, meet new friends and set a positive tone for the day ahead.
 

Fitness in The City
Prepare to join the most ENERGETIC and MOTIVATING fitness movement in Denver.  Come experience a variety of total body group workouts including calisthenics, plyometrics, strength, and cardiovascular training.  As a member of our community, you can also discover popular classes such as:  Zumba, Body Combat, and MMA conditioning.  We communicate with kettle bells, ViPr Tubes, aqua bags, ski rowers, and much more!  All skill levels can learn the language.  We Speak Fluent Fitness- Do YOU?

 

Big Booty Yoga

Kady Lafferty is the Visionary and Vibe Setter behind Big Booty Yoga, a body positive yoga movement. A Denver- native, she is a devoted and passionate yoga practitioner and teacher. Kady aims to make the ancient teachings of yoga more accessible for everyBODY. Her trainings instilled a passion for music and self-study as a tool for personal growth. Kady puts a modern & light hearted twist on yogic philosophy to make it applicable and relatable to the modern day yogi. Her classes often have an upbeat flow with a hearty side of humor and self-love. She jokes and says she's breaking the yoga stereotype one chubby chatarunga at a time! Kady is affable, approachable, energetic and always the first one to lean into a hug.
